Information from the 2010 Festival August 12-15
RUN COURSE: The 10-kilometer
USTAF certified course is flat and fast. It is basically out and back with a loop in the
middle. It is important to stay to right side of the road. No motor vehicles and no bikes
will be allowed on the course.
SCANDIA STRIDE:
The
not-competitive 4.4 mile walk is open to all ages and levels of fitness. The walk will
start five minutes after the start of the 10k run

After the race, load up with
scrambled eggs, pancakes, ham, and coffee or tea.

$5.00
T-SHIRTS
All children entered will receive a T-shirt.
Important: Day of registrants are not guaranteed a T-shirt.
PARKING:
Parking will be available at
the High school (11 blocks west of Lyle day Park) Parking around Lyle day park will be
congested. Please do not park on Deal Street between 4th and Dane Lane.
REFRESHMENTS:
Water will be available at the start
and along the course. Lochmead/Dari-Mart will provide juice for
participants at the finish area.
RESULTS:
Some results will be available at the
awards ceremony at 10:00 am. Complete results will be posted in Eugene area running stores
an at The Good Race website
24 hours following the race. Click on the Scandia Run link to see this and
past years results. Those participants who provide an email address
will receive individual results with their finish place and time.
GRAND PRIZES:
The Valley South Athletic Club will be awarding three
separate overnight getaways by random drawing. All participants will be
eligible to win these prizes provided courtesy of U.S. Bank.
AWARDS:
Division winners will receive prizes provided by SportHill Sports
Apparel, Eugene, Oregon
RANDOM DRAWINGS:
Gift certificates, good for a
variety of products from your local Dari-mart store will be given away
by random drawing,
along with the merchandise and products from other area merchants. Please thank these
people when you patronize their businesses. To be eligible for the drawing, participants
must be present and have their ticket number. This year we will be
adding as a sponsor, Food for Lane County who will be manning our water
station. There will be a special random drawing for all who bring two food
items for donation at the start finish area.
FACILITIES:
Restrooms and showers will be open at
Junction City High School from 6:00 am to 11:00 am. Bring your own towel. Port-a-pots will
be at the race start/finish area.
RACE HELP:
Helpers are needed and rewarded.
Volunteers receive a free T-shirt and are eligible for special random
prizes. Call Jared Brougher at (541) 510-1839 to register as a volunteer.
PROCEEDS:
Profits from the Scandia run are used to
help maintain and improve the track facilities at Junction City High School.
PACKET PICKUP :
Race packets can be picked up early on Thursday, August 12th from 1 to 6pm at
the Eugene Running Company, Oakway Center, Eugene and on Friday, August 13th
from 5 to 7pm at Junction City High School. Runners may enter on the day of
the race at Lyle Day Park from 6:30 to 7:30am.
