Throughout your visit to the Festival you'll see many demonstrations of Scandinavian crafts being done. This woman displays and demonstrates how to do hardanger lace; the art of picking apart a portion of fabric and re-working it into traditional designs. Examples in this photograph include not only the piece she's working on, but also can be seen on her collar, cuffs, and frontpiece of her blouse. In today's age of machine-made clothing actually seeing the work and time that goes into quality hand-crafts is both educational and inspirational-especially for children.
