Are you a first-time visitor, or do you want to "just know the facts"? This is the place!
We'll also alert you to last-minute changes, right through the last day. Meanwhile, here are the basics to help make your visit the most enjoyable. There are usually not many changes from year to year.

Festival Hours:
THURSDAY - SATURDAY 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m
SUNDAY 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There is no admittance fee, and free musical and dancing performances are given throughout each of the four days. The Festival is known for the quality and variety of its crafts booths; and the many authentic foods available are a major attraction for many visitors.
On the program pages for each day we've color-coded the text to help you find the type of activity you're looking for.
Dance!DANCING: We feature several excellent local groups, but watch especially for groups visiting us from other states or countries.
Music!MUSICAL EVENT: This includes not only choral performances and foot-tapping bands, but sometimes soloists on unusual instruments.
Learn!LEARN SOMETHING SCANDINAVIAN: Watch traditional crafts such as bobbin lace or hardanger lace being made. Or learn a few words in Danish!

Scandia Run: This very popular annual event features a 10 kilometer USTAF certified course, and is held during the Festival every year on Saturday. This means that you'll see larger crowds early Saturday morning as the runners complete the course.
If you want to participate, you'll find complete information on our Scandia Run page

Best time to come all depends on what you want to do. . .
The smallest crowds are on Thursday during the day and Sunday morning; heaviest crowds are on Friday evening and Saturday noon until closing, but they're also the days to find some of the best entertainment.
Sunday morning there is an interdenominational church service held at Festival Park.
We do suggest that you check the schedule of daily events throughout our site and see if there are any performances that you want to see, since each day is different. Whenever you come, we know you'll have a great time!

Information & Programs:
The large information windmill is located at the center of the Festival - you can't miss it! They have free programs and maps of the Festival, so it's best to make that your first stop. If you're looking for a particular booth or item, they'll be able to direct you to it.

  • Diaper Changing, Nursing, & Rest Station
Located in the Pregnancy Support Center on 6th Avenue (see map)
Diaper Changing/Nursing for parents, grandparents, anyone just needing to rest.  Come in to sit and cool off.  They provide diapers, wipes, ice water and air conditioning during the festival, all free of charge.
    Open Thurs - Saturday 12 - 7pm and Sunday 1-7pm.

  • Pets:
Unfortunately, Lane County has an ordinance forbidding dogs within 50 feet of a public food booth. The law is strictly enforced at the Festival, so please leave Fido at home.
AUTO PARKING
  • Thanks to Bi-Mart for donating half their parking lot for the Girl Scouts to use as a fund-raiser! It's on the east edge of the Festival on 6th Ave.
  • Habitat for Humanity. has general parking available by the water tower, behind the Fire Hall. Fee is $5 or $15 for in-and-out privileges.
  • Other parking can be found in the residential areas just west of the Festival, so you should plan to walk about 2-3 blocks. Please reserve the J.C. Select Market parking lot for their customers. It's the polite thing to do.  (And besides, they will tow!)
HANDICAP PARKING & WHEEL CHAIR RENTALS
  • Available by the water tower, behind the Fire Hall and Library. Wheel Chair Rentals and parking are made possible by volunteers from Habitat for Humanity.
